Survivors rarely get an opportunity to fully grieve when the person that was killed is the criminal. Most people are quick to say "They got what they deserved", but what about the people that are left behind that loved them.Their mothers their sisters and brothers, their children, their wives or husbands, girlfriends or boyfriends, or the maybe the people who were just able to see some good in them, Why do we think that they shouldn't be allowed to grieve.

Rookie Sets A Precedence For Financial Responsibilty

The first time that I paid attention to this young man was when the "Chicago Bulls" played the Philadelphia 76'ers and Carter-Williams almost single handedly brought the Sixers from more than a 20 point deficit to defeat the Bulls.

Is There Any Real In Reality TV

Just what television needed, another reality television program, and of all the possible subjects available someone decided that it would make for great television to do a reality television show about pastors. So we now have "Preachers Of LA". Okay I was already uncomfortable as a christian when they decided to do a reality television show about "Mary Mary"  two"African American" sisters who are gospel artist, and now we have a new reality television show about the lives of five pastors in Los Angeles. And In a season when people are thirsty for drama,( as long as it's not theirs), and are intrigued with "Reality TV" ( as long as It's someone else's reality that's being put on blast), a show like the "Preachers Of LA" take away from the credibility of those pastors who are not in ministry for the money nor do they care about getting their name out there, they just simply love God enough to endure all of the problems pain and anger of the people who just don't understand the business side of a church, and all that comes with the job of being in ministry. The one thing that I have come to know about "Reality TV" is that if there is no drama no one is going to continue watch. So if drama has to be created or scripted then there is no real in that reality.

I thought that this video was kinda cute, this video shows a bird continually sliding down the roof on a top, and it also shows that animals enjoy having a good time too. I have always suspected that when I was driving on the highway that the birds where playing as we did as children with a game called "Follow The Leader" where the leader attempted to do something so risky that no one would try and those that did might not be able to complete it, in which case they where "Skunked" and out of the competition. The birds, it seemed, were intentionally flying low right in front of the car as if to exhibit their precision flying and evasive skills.
This video is hilarious to me.When I first saw this one I laughed until I cried, in the complete video,(which is a must see), She starts falling early in her walk and in an effort to try and right herself her balance issues just gets worst. The news anchors that were reporting on this video started laughing and were unable to stop and you will laugh too.
This Video reminds me of how we are as children and how far we are willing to go to get attention from our parents, especially our mothers. In the full video Stewie calls his mother 27 times before she gets to that point that only we can drive our parents to, insanity.

Is China Trying To Kill Us?

Can somebody please help me to understand why after all the of imports from China to the United States of America that has caused sickness and even death, that we still find more goods that are labeled "Made In China" than goods that are labeled "Made In America" on our shelves? It seems to me that after the poison baby formula, the lead painted toys, and now most recently, the poison dog and cat treats, It is time for America to come out of denial and face the question "Is China trying to kill us"?
The logical thing or the most sensible thing to do, would be to tighten our Food And Drug Administration (FDA) inspections on anything that originated in China, but that's just me. There has got to be an up side for China to thin the herd of a country that owes them over 1.277 trillion dollars. I just don't know what it is.

There is an up side to all of this for us though, we don't have to worry about China trying to invade us, there is no need to when they can use the old "Trojan Horse" trick.

Personal Space Invaders

Recently I was in line at a major store when I realized that the person standing in line behind me was standing entirely too close. I find it irritating and in some cases it even makes me angry when people seem to have so little or no regard for a person's personal space. Like when you are having a conversation with someone and they are standing so close that you have to take a step back, or, and this is my top personal peeve about space invasions,  when I go to the men's room at the movie theater and there are at least ten or more urinals that  are lined in a row and this is important, there is know one else in there at the time, and some guy walks in, and even though he has his choice of any urinal he comes to the urinal right next to me, this is the one that makes me want to turn to that invading person and asked "what in the blank is wrong with you"? Did your mother not hug you enough? What the....okay okay let me come back.
My youngest son was so traumatized when I took
him into the men's room at "Wrigley Field"
that he said he is never going back. You can see in picture below that it is setup so that you had to stand and urinate shoulder to shoulder with the stranger next you and hope that they can aim and most importantly that they did not splash.
Wrigley Field Troughs
Wrigley Field may get a restoration, but the old men's trough urinals will stay.

 So I decided to go on the internet to see if I am the only one who is disturbed by people invading your personal space. I found that I am not the only one who feels this way. I found that there were plenty of postings just like this almost word for word;
I put the shopping cart behind me to keep invaders away from me, if I don't do that, they are breathing down my neck while I'm trying to pay for the groceries.

The New Normal ?

Okay is it me or has anyone else noticed that there are now more people walking the streets who are  exhibiting behaviors that are normally signs of mental disorders? Call me crazy but lately everywhere I look I'm seeing somebody dancing and twirling around in the street or having a loud conversation with an invisible person. I have a couple of theories as to what may be going on. The first one is that there are now so many new synthetic drugs available that are legal, like "Bath Salts", "Spice" which is a legal synthetic marijuana, and so many more new synthetic drugs that there are just too many to mention. The problem is that there are so many teens and young adults experimenting with the new generation of drugs, that I personally believe we are just now starting to see the mental disorders that are left behind.
My second theory is that whenever there are government budget cuts or even a government shutdown, mental institutions are the first to be closed. Isn't it odd  that the last three major incidents that happened in our nation's capital were done by people who were diagnosed with mental disorders?

The Government Shutdown

The United States Of America's government is shut down. Can you believe it? The government shutdown has got to be the most irresponsible thing in the history of our country. How is it possible that the Republican party is able to legally use President Obama's "Affordable Healthcare Plan" as a reason to not do their jobs? The government shutdown unfortunately affects only the lives of the people and not the politicians otherwise it would have been settled long ago. Since the politicians are government employees how about we include their salaries in the budget so that if the budget is not passed then they are not paid either.

And The Gun Violence Continues

Okay here we go again, It is becoming extremely difficult to keep track. One would think that after all of the mass shootings that this country has endured and after all of the heartaches that are caused to those relatives who are left to bury their love ones, you would think that the passing of common sense gun legislation would be easy, especially since most of the mass shootings that have been committed were committed with assault rifles. There is an old saying that says "Those Who Forget The Past Are Destined To Repeat It". It has become increasingly clear to me that this country is being run by the "Rifle Association", and other corporations who have, and continue to line the pockets of  politicians who seemed to only be concerned about amassing  more wealth, regardless of how the lives of the people are impacted.
I reported on a story last year about  the ban on horse meat being allowed to expire, and considering what happened in America after the ban on assault rifles expired, I am now concerned about what to expect with our ground beef.

In A World With Little Compassion

This picture touched me because when you look at this picture you see the kind of pain that can only come from the pain that makes your heart hurt. The kind of hurt that escapes through tears and or a moan, the kind of hurt that comes when you lose somebody that you truly loved and you are faced with the realization that you will never be able to see or even hold that person close to you again. The kind of hurt that makes you ask the question out loud "What Am I Gonna Do Now"?

50 Years Later

Last week the nation celebrated the 50th year anniversary of Martin Luther King's "I Have A Dream" speech, and I think it is fair to say that the more things change, the more they stay the same. You would think that as a nation we would have grown in some crucial areas by now, and you would think that in the age of media access like "Facebook", "Youtube" and cell phones with cameras, that we as a nation would be extremely careful of what we say or do that could end up on Facebook or Youtube exposing how we really feel and who we really are. Now if that video doesn't make you feel like you have been teleported back to the 1960's check this one out. Now before any Chicagoans start to think that those kinda things only happen somewhere else take a look at this . It seems to me that as a nation we are going to need another 50.

The Finish LIne Is In Sight

My time at Kennedy King College has been a great experience. I have been fortunate enough to cultivate great friendships and make excellent connections with professionals in my field of interest, that being the  media field.
I have had the pleasure of watching some of my professors in commercials and even made a few of my own .To top it all off I am now interning at the radio station that actually is responsible for my desire to do broadcast radio "WVON" . Imagine that.
