And The Gun Violence Continues

Okay here we go again, It is becoming extremely difficult to keep track. One would think that after all of the mass shootings that this country has endured and after all of the heartaches that are caused to those relatives who are left to bury their love ones, you would think that the passing of common sense gun legislation would be easy, especially since most of the mass shootings that have been committed were committed with assault rifles. There is an old saying that says "Those Who Forget The Past Are Destined To Repeat It". It has become increasingly clear to me that this country is being run by the "Rifle Association", and other corporations who have, and continue to line the pockets of  politicians who seemed to only be concerned about amassing  more wealth, regardless of how the lives of the people are impacted.
I reported on a story last year about  the ban on horse meat being allowed to expire, and considering what happened in America after the ban on assault rifles expired, I am now concerned about what to expect with our ground beef.

In A World With Little Compassion

This picture touched me because when you look at this picture you see the kind of pain that can only come from the pain that makes your heart hurt. The kind of hurt that escapes through tears and or a moan, the kind of hurt that comes when you lose somebody that you truly loved and you are faced with the realization that you will never be able to see or even hold that person close to you again. The kind of hurt that makes you ask the question out loud "What Am I Gonna Do Now"?

50 Years Later

Last week the nation celebrated the 50th year anniversary of Martin Luther King's "I Have A Dream" speech, and I think it is fair to say that the more things change, the more they stay the same. You would think that as a nation we would have grown in some crucial areas by now, and you would think that in the age of media access like "Facebook", "Youtube" and cell phones with cameras, that we as a nation would be extremely careful of what we say or do that could end up on Facebook or Youtube exposing how we really feel and who we really are. Now if that video doesn't make you feel like you have been teleported back to the 1960's check this one out. Now before any Chicagoans start to think that those kinda things only happen somewhere else take a look at this . It seems to me that as a nation we are going to need another 50.

The Finish LIne Is In Sight

My time at Kennedy King College has been a great experience. I have been fortunate enough to cultivate great friendships and make excellent connections with professionals in my field of interest, that being the  media field.
I have had the pleasure of watching some of my professors in commercials and even made a few of my own .To top it all off I am now interning at the radio station that actually is responsible for my desire to do broadcast radio "WVON" . Imagine that.
